Wharfedale Diamond IW-2 In-Wall Speaker – These are equipped with the innovative Klarity™ cone material, which is a blend of Polypropylene and mica. This unique blend adds stiffness to the cones, reducing any flexing. As a result, the cones are incredibly lightweight, rigid and have lightning-fast response times. The result is a loudspeaker with low colouration that will impress even the most discerning audiophile – a basis that easily translates to the world of home cinema.
The Klarity™ cone material is made from a unique blend of Polypropylene and mica, which gives it the ability to reduce flexing and add stiffness. This results in a cone that is lightweight, rigid, and has lightning-fast response times. The low-damping surround on the cone achieves both low colouration and expressive dynamics. To achieve a flat response curve without resorting to a high-damping surround; ribs were added for further stiffening. The magnet system is also precision-made with an aluminium compensation ring to minimise the effect of variations in inductance. The end product strikes the perfect balance of dynamics and impact, with detail and depth of projection.
The DIAMOND IW crossovers were created initially through extensive computer modelling, focusing on enhancing nuances that are important for a home theatre experience. Elements such as vocal clarity and heightened transients were given priority to create a cinematic experience for this dedicated integrated HTS solution. As with all Wharfedale models, numerous listening tests were conducted to ensure that the end product was in line with the original concept – an exhilarating home theatre experience that enhances entertainment while watching movies, playing games, and listening to music.
The cabinets are incredibly sturdy and well-constructed, with specially crafted bracing that adds strength and stability. Its design minimises any unwanted vibrations, ensuring a pure, resonant sound for enhanced depth and impact.
